Lehman Cave

After so much shopping for our new place and new baby, I was so ready to go do something outdoorsy and fun. I wanted to go to Moab since we live so much closer now, but realized there really isn't much a little pregnant lady can do there. So Travis remembered that there are these really cool caves at Great Basin National Park which is only 2 hours from our house on the Utah/Nevada border. So we made a day trip out of it and went to Lehman Caves. It was a 90 minute guided tour with stairs and barely any crouching. It's also strategically lit to show off the formations. I've been to about 5 different caves over the years but I'd have to say that this one is definitely the largest with a wide variety of formations to check out. Both Travis and my favorite part of the cave was the area with pools of water beneath the stalactites. It was the perfect little adventure and was much needed.

We also went on a little hike before the tour. It was gorgeous outside!

Minersville Lake

We're taking advantage of the warmer spring weather as much as we can and so fishing was definitely on the list for the day. Travis got out to Minersville Lake before I did and caught a bunch of trout on his fly rod in his float tube. Lily went with him and did what she does best at the lake- went swimming! Once I got there and got all geared up and hiked around to my spot, the weather changed and the fish went into hiding. So even though I didn't catch anything this time, it was so nice to be outside at the lake.




Since we couldn't fish all day we decided to check out some dirt roads nearby. It was a pretty nice 4wheelin drive, meaning not too bumpy for the pregnant lady. We pulled out the .22 and tortured Lily for a few rounds- she HATES the sound of gun shots. And of course we got the truck stuck in the snow for a little while as well. It was a great day and I'm so looking forward to more nice spring weather!

Beginnings of the Nursery

I was sooo excited to get our nursery furniture and bedding set that I just had to post a quick blurb about it. Travis did a great job picking everything out and I just can't believe there's going to be a little guy in that crib soon! The colors are perfect :) The room is a little crammed because we wanted to keep the futon in there but it totally works for now. 10 more weeks until Dallen comes! Ah!

Newest Toy!

Travis has been itchin to get another 4wheeler. He's too undecided about which RZR he wants, not to mention they're way pricey. So we decided to wait on one of those and get another regular ATV, just bigger with better suspension. Here's our newest toy: the Polaris Sportsman. :)

Resident Deer & Lil

The deer come into the pasture right behind our house just about every evening and Lily thinks she's all that and can chase them away. Sometimes they hold their ground and then she comes back running. In this picture she got distracted by something she found in the ground and lost interest until they came in for a closer look at her. So many things for the little schnauzer to explore. :)

Provo Babyshower!

It was a perfect weekend get away- Spent lots of time with the family and had a great afternoon/evening with old friends. Travis and I stayed with my mom, dad, Claire, and Audra in their hotel and enjoyed being with them throughout the day. They came out for the annual Clogging Competition at Thanksgiving Point. It was Audra's first year competing and she did great, placing in all her dances!! Claire placed in all her dances as well and I just enjoyed spending all that time watching with them mom, dad, Sarah and Jacob.




Travis and I spent time together too running errands in Salt Lake at our favorite stores like Cabelas, the Apple Store, REI, and Patagonia. Looks like we'll be heading up there for our favorite stores more often then I thought. :)

Saturday Travis went pheasant hunting all day while I had a great baby shower with the Colorado girls and my family. We got nice pedicures and had fun chatting and giggling at the salon. The gifts were so nice and adorable and Lisa was so sweet to organize everything and make yummy snacks. It always amazes me when us girls can actually get together now that our lives are so involved with family. Margaret came out from Grand Junction, Chelsea came from Elko, Becca rearranged her work schedule to be there and Mom, Claire and Audra where there for the competition. Lisa, Sarah, and Jocie had the day off too, and it was just so nice to have so many of us there! I love being closer to family and good friends.





Sadly the weekend ended with Claire, Audra and Jacob coming down with a flu bug. For some reason whenever the family gets together people get sick! It happened at Christmas and a couple times this past summer too. So weird... Overall it was so much fun and so relaxing to be with everyone.
