Park Day with Brighton

So before I move I wanted to spend some time with my niece, Brighton. The weather's been so nice and I've been itching to get out to Sunset Park. So we brought out our bikes and decided to ride around to the different playgrounds and the lake. She'd never been there before and had a blast on all the play equipment and seeing all the ducks, geese, birds, and people fishing. Our favorite playground was the new one the firm I work for designed, Southwick LA, with playground equipment from Kompan. Most of it spins and bounces and is just unique and so fun! Brighton definitely kept me on my toes and I could tell that I just don't have the same energy or mobility for that matter, being 5 1/2 months pregnant! We got some food at Jack-In-The-Box afterwards and played with the toy that came with it for a awhile too. It's one of those paper things called a cootie catcher. I use to make them as a kid but had no idea they had a name. I had a great time playing and hanging out and will definitely miss our little niece!

Lily & a Kitty

Our neighbor's cat, Simon, has been coming around to visit everyday for the past week or so. He lives with 2 other dogs and is not bothered by Lily one bit. Doesn't even hiss at her or anything! He just wants love from me and to rub up against Lil and snuggle with her. That freaks her out, of course, and she spazes out every time he gets near her. She guards the doggie dog and backdoor all day long and stays on the watch for her new intruder. I think she likes the company though. :)

IT'S A......

BABY! Ok, of course we're having a baby, but specifically we FINALLY had an ultrasound (it was postponed 1 week, but of course that felt like forever) and we're having a BOY!!!!!!! We are soooooo excited!!!!!!! There's no mistake looking at the ultrasound that he's definitely a he and we couldn't be more happy. We both were wanting a boy and it's just so amazing that not only do we get a little one of our own, but it's the gender we were hoping for. Travis just has to have a son and I hope we eventually have one of each, but a boy is good for the both of us right now and things just couldn't be more perfect. :) He's perfectly normal and healthy all tucked inside my tummy. He moves around a lot and Travis has even been able to feel him! I thought I would be totally weirded out by a baby moving inside me, but I actually love it! The weird things are all the changes happening to my body- huge belly, pants not fitting, tight skin, large chest (that's a first for me- ha!), etc etc. But it's all worth it for this little guy. I haven't been more excited for him to come then I am now. It's so nice to call him a 'him' and not 'it' anymore. :) He'll be here before we know it and our lives will be so incredibly different and fun in a whole new way. Can't wait to meet out little guy in May!!

Heeb Family Updates

So these last few months in the Heeb family have kind of been monumental. There have been so many milestones for so many of us that I just had to write about all of the wonderful blessings that we have been given.

My brother Joseph went through the temple for the first time this month. It has been a challenging few years and this is truly a HUGE accomplishment in his life. We are all so proud of him and happy for him!! Can't wait to do a session with all of my endowed siblings some day. :)


My other brother, Jordan, also recently went through the temple in preparation for his mission. He was called to the Nashville Tennessee mission and left Dec 8th. He was district leader in the MTC and had his first baptism within a month of being in the field! He has always been a good kid, but he has really grown up these last 6 months or so and we're all so proud of him as well!



Jessica had her second baby girl, Avery Renee Blasucci- Born Jan. 7th, 8lbs 15oz, 20.5in with no complications at all! Jess did have to endure some delivery pains since she jumped so quickly from a 7 to a 10, but she would take that any day over what she had to go through with Sophie that first week she was born. I'm so excited for them and can't wait to meet my newest little niece!





Next my parents celebrated their 30th anniversary in Oahu, Hawaii this last December at a gorgeous resort on the beach! They had a wonderful time at the temple, at the Polynesian Cultural Center, and even kayaked out to an island 45min away! I'm so happy to have such wonderful parents that are still so in love even after these last 30 crazy years with all of us kiddos. :)



Emily is graduating high school this year and has been accepted to 2 colleges: BYU-I and UVU. We're so proud of her and how hard she's worked at getting such a great GPA and getting accepted to 2 great schools. Go Em!!

Speaking of college acceptance, Thomas was accepted to a masters program at University of Texas and starts this month, graduating in 2013! We're so excited for him! That obviously keeps the Blasucci's in Texas for a few more years. And then who knows, maybe Beaver... :) ha!

Joy started kindergarten this school year, which has to be noted because that means that mom is kid free for a few hours out of the day for the first time in 30 years!! She says it hasn't been that big of a change for her because Joseph's in and out during those few hours, so technically a "kid" is still at home and because Joy only goes to half-day kindergarten. She goes in the afternoon which means sometimes Emily and Claire get home before Joy does. So really, it's still crazy at home, but maybe mom will see the changes more so next year with Emily moved out, Joe gone during the day and Joy in 1st grade all day like the other 3. :) Joy's teacher says she's a natural leader, learned all of her classmates names very quickly and likes to help everyone feel like they belong. We always knew she was miss independent. Oh Joy!

And then almost a side note, but so important to an 11 year old, Audra got her ears pierced this Christmas break! I almost forgot to blog about it. Travis and I actually took her to the mall to get it done. It was such an adventure being there for her and seeing her so happy to have beautiful earrings. :) Travis of course video recorded her even though we told him no, but she did good and just squeezed the life out of my hands. :)


Sarah, David and Jacob are still doing well plugging along with work and school. David is majoring in History Education with a minor in geology and lots of extra classes in religion. Sarah is a trooper and is supporting the family with her full time job at Pinnacle Security. Jacob is still the happiest baby ever and is so full of life- we LOVE him! :)

Claire and Charity are doing great in school. Claire is a freshman this year and got her permit in October! They grow up sooo fast!

So that's the family update. Such exciting accomplishments!! It's so fun to see so many great blessings all at once. We are truly grateful.

Baby Bump

I realized that I haven't posted much of anything about my pregnancy! I'm already over halfway, 21 weeks, and can't believe how fast time has flown by! I guess in the first trimester it was hard to be too excited for fear of miscarriage and then because I was a sicky all the time. And now that I'm feeling better and you can see the changes in my baby bump etc, life has just gone crazy with graduating, the holidays, Travis' job and now moving! This little baby will be here before we know it! So here are the first few baby bump pictures thus far:

Christmas in Colorado

With all the new changes in our life I still wanted to make sure we made it out to celebrate Christmas in Denver. My Aunt Carrie Lou and her family came from Boston to celebrate as well which was such a nice addition to the festivities- especially the Christmas Eve Caroling event. We really did sound like a choir with 2 Boston Symphony Choir members there. :)

We did a lot of the usual Christmas stuff- making cookies, caroling, Christmas Eve gifts, Nativity reenactment, and early Christmas morning gift giving-6:30am this year. We had 20 people squished in the living room/kitchen on Christmas morning. It was crazy as usual with a moment or 2 of "no visible carpet". The notable gifts of the day were Sarah's Shake Weight, David's huge Machete, the guys metal figurines from Grandma, Joseph's Onesie with a butt flap, Jacob's reaction to getting Spongebob stuffed-animal, Just Dance Wii game, and our baby hiking backpack. I'm sure there's more, but those were the most memorable ones.

Travis and I also spent an evening with my friends from high school doing a white elephant and eating a delicious pot luck dinner. It was so nice catching up with everyone and getting just about all the girls together again- Laura, Chelsea, Jocelyn, Catie, Kym-me, Trisha, and Lisa. 5 out of the 8 of us are pregnant too. (Me, Catie, Kym-me, Lisa, and Trisha) Exciting stuff. So good to see everyone!

We also got to talk to Jordan who was flying out to Nashville from the MTC. It was so good to hear from him and he sounded so happy! So exciting to have a brother on a mission.

It was really nice to be home for the holidays!, although we did miss the snow. It came the next weekend, of course.

p.s. Everyone loved having Lily around! Mom even let her jump up on her bed a couple times! She got lots and lots of love.
